Terms of service
These terms are an agreement between you and mjonesone LLC, a California limited liability company ("mjonesone", "we", "us"), which operates Every Signal at everysignal.com (the "Service"). By creating an account, buying anything, or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for a company or fund, you confirm you can bind it, and "you" includes it.
1. The Service
Every Signal publishes research about companies and markets ("reports"), runs new research you request, and monitors websites you add to a watchlist. Research is built from publicly available information, third-party data tools and our own analysis, with the help of AI tools. Each figure is tagged with how we know it: verified, estimate, inferred or rumour.
2. Not advice; accuracy
Reports are general research. They are not investment, financial, legal, tax or accounting advice, and nothing in them is an offer or recommendation to buy or sell any security. Estimates, inferences and third-party figures can be wrong, and companies change quickly. You are responsible for your own decisions and for checking anything you rely on.
3. Accounts
You must be at least 18. You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email; anyone who can read that inbox can sign in, so keep it secure and tell us at once if you think your account was used without permission. Give us accurate information and keep it current. One account belongs to one organisation.
4. Plans, purchases and payment
- Free access. Report summaries are free. A new account can read one full library report free.
- Report unlock. A one-time purchase that gives your account ongoing access to one full library report.
- Library subscription. Access to every full library report while your subscription is active.
- Fund and Firm plans. Monthly subscriptions that include the library, report credits for new research and watchlist slots. Plan credits refresh each billing month and do not roll over. Purchased report credits do not expire.
Prices are shown before you pay and are in US dollars, plus any applicable tax. Payments are processed by Stripe under its terms. Subscriptions renew automatically each month at the then-current price until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid month and you keep access until then. We'll give you notice before any price change applies to your subscription.
5. Refunds
Reports are digital content delivered immediately (or research that starts as soon as it is requested), so payments are non-refundable once access is granted or research has begun, except where the law requires otherwise. If we can't deliver a report you paid for, we'll return the credit or refund the payment. If you were charged in error, email us within 30 days and we'll make it right.
6. Your licence to reports
Reports, the library, the site and the software are owned by mjonesone LLC and protected by copyright and other laws. When you have access to a report, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read it and use it for your organisation's internal purposes, including sharing it with your colleagues, advisers and co-investors in a specific deal. You may quote short excerpts with attribution to Every Signal. You may not resell, republish, sublicense or redistribute reports, post them publicly, remove the licence notice, or use them to build a competing product or data set, without our written permission. Reports you commission are licensed to you on the same basis; we may use the underlying public research in other work but will not publish your questions or identify you as a customer.
7. Acceptable use
Don't: research private individuals or use the Service to harass, stalk or harm anyone; break the law or anyone's rights; try to get around the paywall, blurred previews or access controls; scrape, copy or bulk-download the library; probe or overload our systems; or share your sign-in with another organisation. We may refuse any research request.
8. Companies we write about
Company names, logos and trademarks in reports belong to their owners and are used only to identify the companies discussed; no affiliation or endorsement is implied. If you represent a company we wrote about and believe something is wrong, email us with the details and we'll review it and correct verified errors.
9. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, fails to pay, or puts the Service or others at risk. Sections 2, 6 (restrictions), 8, 10, 11, 12 and 13 survive termination.
10. Disclaimer
The Service and all reports are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, and we don't promise the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, mjonesone LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, investment losses, revenue or data, arising from the Service or any report. Our total liability for all claims is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US $100. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law permits.
12. Indemnity
You'll defend and indemnify mjonesone LLC against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or reports or your breach of these terms.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, contact us so we can try to resolve it informally within 30 days. Any dispute that isn't resolved will be decided in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and both sides consent to their jurisdiction. Either side may bring an individual claim in small-claims court.
14. Changes and general terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new date and email customers about material changes before they take effect; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept them. These terms are the whole agreement between us about the Service. If any part is unenforceable, the rest still applies. You may not transfer your account or these terms without our consent; we may transfer them with our business.
